Dalia has held senior academic roles, bringing extensive newsroom and industry experience into the classroom. She served as Associate Dean of Humanities at the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt and previously as a full-time professor at The American University in Cairo, where she taught TV journalism and multimedia.

Her approach to education is grounded in the principles that shaped her career as a journalist: rigorous research, critical thinking, journalistic ethics, and the ability to ask difficult questions. She taught students not only how to produce stories but also how to question information, challenge assumptions, verify evidence, and understand the responsibility that comes with communicating to an audience.

Drawing on years of professional journalism, Dalia connected academic theory with the realities of the newsroom. Her teaching emphasized clarity, accuracy, curiosity, and sound editorial judgment, giving students the opportunity to apply what they learned to real-world journalistic situations.

Before moving into academia and communication advisory, Dalia built her career in broadcast journalism. As Cairo Bureau Chief and presenter at CNBC Arabia, Dalia covered major economic and business developments. As a TV Business Journalist, she covered major economic and business developments, delivered daily live market commentary, and hosted a weekly socio-economic program examining the issues shaping Egypt and the region.

Her work combined rigorous research, sharp questioning, and compelling storytelling. She produced exclusive reports that drew regional attention and were cited by international news organizations, including Reuters, while interviewing decision-makers and navigating complex stories in fast-moving news environments.

With a master’s degree in TV Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The American University in Cairo, Dalia brought analytical depth to her journalism and the ability to translate complex issues into stories audiences could understand.
